Since a lot of my clients email me with some of the same questions, I thought it would be easier to compile them altogether and answer them as best as I can. If you have more, then of course feel free to email me and I will do my best to answer them within 24 hrs.
1.How long have you been doing photography?
*I’ve been doing photography for a little over four years now. Originally, my focal point was mostly children and families, but I crossed over to wedding photography in the last year, and feel elated to have the opportunity to document this special day for my clients.
2.How would you describe your photography?
*I like to think of my work as “Editorial”. I used to say “photojournalistic”,but I just recently learned that “photojournailistic” isn’t a word. Essentially I want to tell a story through my images. I thrive off the interpretations that my images conjure, and love the dialogue that follows. I like capturing life in its organic flow, and I’m die hard about preserving my unobtrusive shooting approach. I prefer to capture your raw emotions, rather than tell you how to pose, or how to look a certain way. Simply put, I want to capture you being, well, you. When clients ask, “What should I wear for my shoot?”, my normal response usually is, “whatever you would normally wear or whatever you feel your best in.” Matching is the opposite of a must, in my book. I also don’t have a personal preference between black and white and color- this is usually something I decide in post editing, and can make that decision based on the juxtaposition/elements of the individual image.
3.How do we book you?
*It’s simple! A signed contract and a 50% deposit and I’m all yours. I can’t fully reserve the date until both of these have been collected, and I work off a first come/first serve basis. The remaining balance is due on the day of the event, and I accept personal check, cash, or paypal payment.
4.How many photographers do you work with?
*For family/couple sessions, I will be the only photographer on location. For weddings and other large events, I will always bring a second shooter. You can rest assured knowing that my assistants are hand selected, and share my same passion and outlook. Essentially, if you love me, you will love my second shooter.
5.Do we need to provide transportation/hotel room/dinner for you at our wedding?
*Yes please! Unless the wedding is local, transportation, (i.e. flight or compensation for driving miles) hotel, (unless I can crash in your guys’ room? No?) and food (the trail mix that I usually bring isn’t cutting it anymore) is required. Unless you want to awkwardly catch me stuffing food/cake into my pocket. :)
6.How many photos can we expect?
*For family/engagement sessions, you can expect anywhere from 70-80 images. For weddings and other large events, you can expect anywhere from 200-400 images. These numbers are based on averages from previous shoots/weddings, and I use them as a guideline.
7.How soon will we see proofs after our shoot?
*You will be able to view your images on my proof website 6-8 weeks after the event. Your proofs will be available to you for up to three months, and printing orders can be made directly through this site.
8.What is your typical process post wedding? When will my album arrive?
*After one month, the images are available for viewing/purchasing on my proof website. Album production starts immediately after this. I usually let clients pick 10 images that they want to see in the album, but often times clients leave it up to me to use my best judgement. Most albums contain anywhere from 20-35 pages, with about 75+ images included. Once the album is finished, the DVD of edited images and album will be shipped together. You can expect the album/DVD around 8 weeks after the event. Often times, family members want to order albums as well, and this can be ordered ala carte directly through me.
Hope this helps! Happy planning!
