Not For This Time

The second I met her, I thought of her as, “The Girl With The Great Hair”. Moments later, she was, “The Girl With The Great Hair And The Most Beautiful Sapphire Engagement Ring I’ve Ever Seen”. And now, two meetings and one successful E-Session later, Jennifer Hernandez has transpired into, “The Girl With The Great Hair & The Most Beautiful Sapphire Ring Who Is Also The Epitome Of Gorgeous But Doesn’t Even Know It.” She reminds me of the kind of women I see on any given episode of Mad Men and think to myself, “How did women know how to look so feminine during that time? Why am I wearing a chip clip in my hair?” In other words, she might make you want to throw away your L.L. Bean fuzzy robe and reach for the magenta lipstick instead. I’m avidly taking lessons from her.

Andrew is the quintessential cool guy that probably never trips or accidentally spits when he talks like the rest of us (or maybe just me), and of course drives the coolest vintage car most of us have ever seen. I watched five different guys give him the reaffirming, “Nice ride, Man” head nod and Andrew cooly nodding back in approval.  He is also completely comfortable in front of a camera (no fair). Both Andrew and Jennifer share a mutual taste in all things classic and prefer anything relating to Old Hollywood, even Dark and Stormy’s and Gin Martini’s. They could easily be a couple straight from the thirties, so you can only imagine how excited I am to shoot their wedding at an old, historical Art Deco venue in San Francisco.

Riding around San Francisco in the backseat of Andrew’s car while Jennifer’s absurdly perfect hair blew in the wind felt very movie-esque. However, watching them exchange “I’m in love with you” smiles in the rear view mirror was anything but a movie, and instead, every bit as real as Jennifer’s Sapphire ring glimmering in the sun. No matter how “not for this time” they are, their love reigns today and throughout any other “era” that passes them by. Congrats to Andrew and Jennifer, your love is beyond inspiring, especially for my L.L. Bean robe.

Thank you, Danielle! We had such a great time with you during our shoot and you made us feel so comfortable. Your magical talents, and camera came through in the end and we are very happy with the images you captured.

P.S. My cake maker emailed me today and told me she went home and told her husband all about how amazing my ring was. Made me think of you!

Absolutely beautiful – these pics actually brought tears to my eyes. You did a fabulous job of capturing the essence of Jennifer & Andrew. As I scrolled through, I kept thinking, “Oh, I love this one, this is my favorite.” And then I’d see the next . . . .

Also, love what you said about Jennifer; you really hit the nail on the head – she is, without a doubt, “the epitome of gorgeous but doesn’t even know it.”

Absolutely stunning photos! I especially love the lighting in the shot of Jennifer & Andrew kissing with the beautiful urn at their side. I think these photos are worthy of a high fashion magazine not only for the photography, but the beautiful couple as models.
